So called as Matches used to be held on the Lake in the 1990s by Deeping St. James AC. This Pit is about 2.5 Acres, with shallows and reeds at the South end shelving down to a deeper end to the North. The stock consists of tench, rudd (billions), catfish, pike and carp. Often sheltered from the wind can be beautiful in the sun, covered in fluff from the Black Poplar Trees. Good fun with a float rod or nighting for the Cats, something for everyone.
